All Keith Brymer Jones Word Range designer homeware, kitchen accessories and tableware are as practical as they are elegant. It follows Keith’s design philosophy: ‘to create simple yet stylish products which are pleasing to the eye, practical in the modern home and, above all, make people happy!’ What a lovely thought from our master potter. It was Keith Brymer Jones‘ personal experience of growing up with dyslexia which inspired the creation of his iconic Word Range. Keith initially viewed words as shapes and considered them the perfect design concept to decorate his ceramics! In fact, the first word he chose for the range was “hot”. For Keith, the form and shape of the letters were just right. Linking the word to hot drinks was a happy coincidence!

Keith is a passionate advocate for art, craft and design education. As a result, he was appointed as a patron for The National Society for Education in Art and Design. In 2019, Keith received an Honorary Doctorate of Arts from Staffordshire University. He received it for his continued work with the University as well as the city of Stoke-on-Trent, the home of the pottery industry. He continues to talk passionately about his work and the wider arts community at various events across the country.

The design stage of each new product and the perfect prototype starts on Keith’s potter’s wheel in his UK studio. The full production then takes place in China. Unquestionably, a country with a deep-rooted history in expert ceramic production. Keith works closely with a team of highly skilled craftsmen to perfect the delicate production process. So they ensure each mug, bowl or jug matches the same style and high quality of his original design. Keith is proud to manufacture his ceramic ranges responsibly in China. In light of this, he has made a fun video to let everyone know here. It is Keith’s dream to bring production home to the UK. Fingers crossed; this dream may not be too far away!
