In 2008, Keith Brymer Jones joined MAKE International Limited as Director and Head of Design. He has since continuously expanded his ever popular Word Range. In addition, he has brought to life many new collaborative ceramic collections. Keith has worked with both British & International designers, illustrators and creators.

The first creation in the Word Range was the bucket mug. The shape of Keith’s trusty old water bucket that he used when throwing on his potter’s wheel was what inspired the shape. The shape of the mug still remains unchanged after 25 years. Who knew?

The design stage of each new product and the perfect prototype starts on Keith’s potter’s wheel in his UK studio. The full production then takes place in China. Unquestionably, a country with a deep-rooted history in expert ceramic production. Keith works closely with a team of highly skilled craftsmen to perfect the delicate production process. So they ensure each mug, bowl or jug matches the same style and high quality of his original design. Keith is proud to manufacture his ceramic ranges responsibly in China. In light of this, he has made a fun video to let everyone know here. It is Keith’s dream to bring production home to the UK. Fingers crossed; this dream may not be too far away!
